Bowdoin Street Teen Clinic

Bowdoin Street Teen Clinic

It is well-known that, for a variety of reasons, visits to the health center become less frequent as older children and adolescents grow. Yet, young people often start to face multiple and complex challenges at home, school and in their community as they get older. Identifying and addressing these challenges and their effects on young's people behavior is important for health center providers. That's why at Bowdoin Street Health Center we have opened a Teen Clinic. The Teen Clinic is open every Wednesday from 3-5pm and anyone age 13-21 can make an appointment or just walk in. All services are private and confidential. They include: physicals, sick or urgent visits; counseling services; prevention services such as STD prevention, substance use or injury due to violence; and linkage to youth services in the community. Everyone will be seen including teens without insurance or without parental permission.

The Teen Clinic is staffed by: Dr. Hernan Delgado and Janet Lincoln, FNP for treatment of medical problems and screening of high-risk behaviors, Maura Driscoll, LICSW for counseling services, Theresa Kane for family planning and HIV services, and Rosita Graciani and Susan Young for linkages to community resources.
