2010 Heart Walk

Date: 9/11/2010 8:30AM - 9/11/2010 1:00PM

Walk with BIDMC's team for the 2010 Boston Start! Heart Walk sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA). The walk begins and ends at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston.

At the Heart Walk, Legendary Red Sox pitcher Jim Lonborg – our honorary team chairman – will greet walkers and sign autographs at the BIDMC Booth. Lonborg, now a dentist in Hanover, was the pitching star of the celebrated Impossible Dream team, winner of the 1967 American League pennant.

Walkers get a special T-shirt and a chance to win a contest with great prizes (Red Sox tickets, hotel stays and dinners for two).

How?

Our Passion for the Heart Walk

We’re passionate about the Heart Walk. Why? Because the AHA is a generous sponsor of important cardiovascular research right here at BIDMC and other local institutions. Boston area researchers received more than $33 million in 2009. We’re grateful to the AHA for helping to create a healthier future for our patients, their loved ones and our own families.

The Heart Walk Will Make You Happy

The Heart Walk will make you happy! Besides the satisfaction of raising funds for a healthy cause, you can enjoy a morning of moderate exercise, snacks, giveaways, music and fun kids’ activities. Walk options are one, three and six miles around the beautiful Charles River Esplanade. Bring your family, friends and pets!
