Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Welcome to the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are involved in the diagnosis and treatment of facial deformities, TMJ pain, sleep apnea and snoring, tumors and cancers of the head and neck area including oral cancer, plastic and reconstructive surgery, facial trauma and diseases of the oral cavity.
Our division has been a leader in Education, Clinical Care, Research, Administration and Community Service. You will find that we are heavily invested in our patients. We continually strive to strengthen our commitment to community outreach programs, develop new strategic partnerships, expand our clinical services and further improve our robust residency training program.
Our outpatient practice and clinics are located at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine and we provide inpatient care here at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Between our various locations, we treat more than 30,000 patients in the outpatient clinics and perform more than 1,000 hospital operating room surgical procedures annually.
As an academic practice affiliated with both BIDMC and Boston University, our faculty is intensely involved in the education of dental and medical students and post-graduate residents. We hold offices in prestigious national and international professional societies, conduct research studies, publish scientific articles in medical and dental journals and textbooks, and give invited lecture presentations, both nationally and internationally. Considering all of these activities, our patients can be assured that the care they receive in our offices and clinics is the most effective and contemporary, state-of-the-art treatment available.
We look forward to meeting you.
