Professional and Career Issues
Please excuse a short entry today. We are at our cottage on Mt Desert (MDI), and the sky is overcast with storms coming, and the satellite internet is even worse than usual. It has taken about half an hour to get this far, and I know my patience will not extend to a normal blog. I am motivated this morning by seeing the most recent issue of Cancer and Careers' newsletter and want to make sure you are aware of this excellent resource.
Last week I referred at least three people to this organization. One woman had been let go at her office and was fairly convinced that the unspoken reason was her cancer, specifically the time that she must take off for ongoing treatments. Another was preparing to look for work after cancer and wanted help with how to deal with difficult interview questions and updating her resume. The third had more general questions re how much to tell her manager and whether HR could be trusted with her medical information.
They can help with all these things and much more: http://www.cancerandcareers.org/en
