A Very Special Opportunity
I don't often, maybe never, or almost never, devote a day's entry to information about a program. This, however, is such a unique and wonderful opportunity that it deserves all the space that I can give it. A Fresh Chapter, founded by Terri WIngham, gives cancer survivors or their caregivers a chance to take a giant life leap.
Understanding that a cancer diagnosis can make us rethink everything, Ms. Wingham developed this program to encourage survivors to try something different, maybe stretch their comfort zones a little, travel, give back, make new friends, and grow while they heal. Usually an international program (she is currently in India with a group), there are a few open spaces in an Arizona-based event later this spring.
Here is the information: A Fresh Chapter Elemental Odyssey
After five successful international programs, A Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation is bringing an innovative support model home to the United States. From April 24 – May 1, 2016, A Fresh Chapter will launch its first North American Elemental Odyssey program. Incorporating community-based volunteering, meaningful travel, and support activities in Los Angeles and Phoenix, this weeklong volunteer travel experience is embedded into a broader framework of online tools, resources, and support designed to help people impacted by cancer reframe adversity, redefine the path forward, and reconnect to themselves, their families, and their communities. A Fresh Chapter programs are open to men and women from across North America who have experienced any type of cancer – either as a patient or a caregiver. To learn more, visit North American Elemental Odyssey or email Terri Wingham at firstname.lastname@example.org.
