Radiology
At BIDMC, we know that part of progress is change. And the ever-growing capabilities of our state-of-the-art radiology department are a great example of that. That's why we make it a top priority to stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technology. In fact, BIDMC was one of the first hospitals in the area to move toward a filmless department by introducing PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System), and we remain committed to embracing new technologies.
And because our department is a truly academic atmosphere, we offer you the opportunity to train on the job, mentored by colleagues eager to help, in most radiologic specialties.
A variety of shifts are available in the following modalities: Diagnostic You'll enjoy a variety of experiences in diagnostic radiology including routine exams, fluoroscopy studies, portable and OR exams, trauma work and orthopedic imaging.
CT
You'll work with cutting-edge equipment including 64 MDCT volume scanners. Our technology is interconnected to PACS multiple GE Advantage workstation and three Vitrea workstations for post-processing. Raw data from our scans is sent to our advanced imaging lab, generating virtual colonoscopy navigation, tracheal navigation, volume analysis of organs and interactive 3D models.
MRI
As a member of our diverse team, you'll operate six MRI systems, including 3T and 1.5 GE research magnets and four clinical 1.5T systems, all with the best hardware available, running the most recent software.
Breast Imaging
Digital imaging and other new technologies are an integral part of our diagnostic tools. As a recognized ACRIN research site, having recently participated in the two-year DMIST trial, we perform selective studies, needle localizations and stereotactic core biopsies.
Ultrasound
Here, you will be exposed to a variety of exams including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, small part, neonatal and some vascular.
Nuclear Medicine
Join our filmless, all-digital practice that includes the entire spectrum of nuclear medicine procedures with emphasis on nuclear cardiology and oncology, including PET-CT.
Interventional Radiology, Angiography and Interventional Neuroradiology
Highly advanced technology allows BIDMC patients access to the most cutting-edge diagnostic and interventional procedures.
