Hundreds gathered to celebrate the dedication of the new Beth Israel Hospital on Brookline Avenue, August 1, 1928. The move from Townsend Street reaffirmed support of the local Jewish for a hospital that would serve all, regardless of race or creed.
Before the addition of the modern Feldberg building in 1976, this graceful doorway served as main entrance to the Beth Israel Hospital for almost half a century.

The first annual dinner of the medical service of Beth Israel Hospital included many who were to become the mainstay of the staff, and leaders of the Boston medical community.
This surgical research team, comprised of several famous physicians, includes Dr. Louis Hermanson, surgeon, and Dr. Benjamin Alexander, hematologist. Each made significant contributions in their respective fields.
The Motor Corps transported patients from home to hospital and was one of the many essential volunteer services provided by the Women’s Auxiliary for the new Beth Israel Hospital.
