A Letter from Kevin Tabb Regarding Milton Hospital
Dear BIDMC Community,
As the new year begins, I am pleased to report we have completed the process to officially make Milton Hospital a member of the BIDMC family.
Almost eight years ago, BIDMC and Milton Hospital launched a clinical affiliation that has grown stronger over time. Last year, the Board of Directors of both hospitals decided to expand that relationship into a full corporate affiliation – the same full relationship we have enjoyed with our Needham hospital partnership.
For the past few months, teams from both hospitals worked to bring us together – a decision ratified by the state Public Health Council last month and made formal a few days ago with the signing of the legal documents. In light of our new relationship, Milton Hospital will change its name to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton.
In these days of health care reform, our partnerships with strong community hospitals like Milton are more important than ever in fulfilling our pledge to provide the right care in the right place at the right time.
