Tanger Be Well Center

Committed to Fitness Since 1985

Since 1985, the Tanger Be Well Center has been one of Boston's most comprehensive employee and patient health management programs, offering many of its services to local businesses and community organizations.

All employees, patients and community members are welcome to join our health and wellness facility. If you have a gym membership elsewhere, you are welcome to attend our health education classes and screenings. 

Information regarding the Tanger Be Well Centers' upcoming programs can be found in the Kiosk located outside the East Campus Cafeteria entrance and also the Be Well Center lobby area.

Cardiovascular and Strength Training Equipment

Our state-of-the-art  facility includes the following equipment: Treadmills, Stairclimbers, Upright and Recumbent Bikes, Rowers, Precor Elliptical Trainers, an Upper Body Ergometer, Free Weights, Dumbbells, Benches, Smith Machine, and a Full Line of selectorized Strength Training Equipment by Nautilus Fitness AdvisorĀ® system that tracks your workouts electronically and gives you regular feedback.

Group Exercise Classes

Classes for all skill levels include Zumba, Yoga, Kickboxing, Step, and Muscle Conditioning classes.  Learn more about our classes and view the current schedule >>

Wide Variety of Programs, Services and Events

The Tanger Be Well Center offers a wide variety of programs and services and wellness events.

Free One-Hour Introductory Exercise Program

All new members are eligible to receive a  free one-hour Introductory Exercise Program (IEP) from one of our Exercise Physiologists. This individualized exercise program is designed to meet your personal goals and help foster your wellness needs. Continual support and follow up is offered after the initial session has been completed.

Trained and Experienced Staff

The Center is staffed by trained and experienced exercise physiologists who specialize in working with individuals at all fitness levels and people with a variety of medical conditions.  Read about our staff >>

Locker Rooms, Showers, & Towel Service

Locker rooms complete with showers, complimentary towel service, blow dryers, iron and ironing board, day-use and rental lockers.

Health & Wellness Education (membership not required)

One-time and on-going  programs on topics like Stress and Time Management, Nutrition and Weight Management, as well as specialized programs on a variety of health and wellness issues (additional fee for some programs).

We publish a  monthly newsletter, called the Be Well Bulletin, to keep members, BIDMC employees and the community informed about new programs, classes and updates, as well as health and fitness information.

We have an  online health and wellness education section that includes health and wellness articles and tips.
