Specialty Care Affiliates
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is pleased to work closely with a number of additional specialty care affiliates.
Boston Children's Hospital
BIDMC clinicians collaborate with Boston Children's Hospital on the specialized care of high-risk pregnancies and births, and the care of adults with congenital heart disease.
Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC)
BIDMC and six other Harvard-affiliated institutions joined forces to create the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC), one of the largest comprehensive cancer research programs in the world. Funded by a grant from the National Cancer Institute, the DF/HCC consists of more than 1,000 researchers with a singular goal — to find new and innovative ways to combat cancer.
Hebrew Rehabilitation Center
Hebrew Rehabilitation Center (HRC), an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, provides an array of health care services for seniors at locations in Boston and Dedham, including long-term chronic care, post-acute care, adult day health, and outpatient services. HRC is BIDMC’s preferred provider of post-acute services for seniors and as part of this clinical affiliation, HRC and BIDMC focus on programs to improve communications when patients are transferred between facilities, ensuring clarity about each patient’s clinical status and a seamless transition of care plan.
Lewis Lipsitz, MD, also serves the dual role as Chief of the Division of Gerontology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Vice President, Academic Medicine and Director of the Institute for Aging Research at Hebrew SeniorLife, the parent organization of HRC.
Joslin Diabetes Center
Physicians from BIDMC and Joslin Diabetes Center work together to provide the best quality care to prevent diabetes and its complications. The focus is on cardiovascular disease, vascular surgery and foot care, visual impairment, kidney and pancreas dysfunction, obesity and diabetes related to pregnancy.
